Whoop It Up With High School Grads

You have made it through the high school years with your now almost grown student! Here you are sitting at the kitchen table amongst paper and pens trying to figure out the almost-adult graduation party for your almost graduate. Gone are the childish games of the younger parties, along with the squeals of kiddies' delight.

What to do for this almost grown child of yours? You can decorate in the school colors with streamers, balloons and napkins; get napkins with the graduation date embossed on them for a nice touch, embossed seals for the envelopes that the invitations are going out in, even return address labels. Class it up a little! What did your teen do in school? Athletics may be? Did he or she get a letterman jacket or award? Maybe a sports themed party would work here. A football field cake with the grad date and a and gown in one corner, the ideas are endless and only limited by taste.

Games at this age are tough at best to find something everyone will play besides video games. The answer to this is a DJ or has everyone bring a favorite tape to play. Luckily, most graduation parties are in the summer and indoor activities will not be needed especially if the party location is at a beach or park. Less clean up that way too!

You might want to order class t shirts as a memento for the graduate and guests to remember the day with. There are some really nice announcements too that you can get to use too. Remember, there are noise laws especially if you are having your party at your home or someone else's. That is why a hall or an outdoor spot is better for a bunch active teens who are excited about celebrating their new "just graduated" status.

For another fun souvenir for the day would be a tape of every one there saying a little something in remembrance of the day that can be mass produced and given to them as a thanks for coming gift, and of days gone by. That way you too can have a copy for years on when the grandkids come to you and ask, "What was mommy or daddy like in school?" You will have plenty of opportunities to remind your graduate of his/her younger school years!
